EDUKASI PHBS DENGAN PENDEKATAN PRAKTIK LANGSUNG SEBAGAI UPAYA MEMBENTUK KEBIASAAN CUCI TANGAN PADA ANAK USIA SEKOLAH DI SDN 01 SUKODADI

The health of school-aged children is often affected by the lack of clean and healthy living practices, particularly proper handwashing, which can increase the risk of infectious diseases. This activity aimed to improve students’ knowledge and skills in applying clean and healthy living behaviors through direct handwashing education using soap. The method applied consisted of simple material delivery, demonstration of the six steps of handwashing, guided practice, interactive discussion, and educational games designed to create an engaging learning experience. The program was conducted at SDN 01 Sukodadi involving second- and third-grade students who actively participated in each session. The results showed an increase in students’ understanding of the importance of handwashing and its benefits for health, as well as improvements in their ability to follow the correct steps of handwashing. Observations indicated that most students were able to recall and perform the handwashing sequence properly after receiving direct guidance and demonstration. Moreover, students were enthusiastic and more motivated to learn because the materials were delivered through visual media, songs, and interactive games. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that practice-based education had a positive impact on enhancing students’ awareness, knowledge, and skills in maintaining personal hygiene. This activity proved to be effective in fostering clean and healthy habits from an early age and is expected to be implemented continuously both at school and at home.

Kesehatan anak usia sekolah sering terganggu akibat kurangnya penerapan perilaku hidup bersih, terutama kebiasaan mencuci tangan, yang berisiko menimbulkan penyakit menular. Kegiatan ini bertujuan meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan siswa dalam menerapkan perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat melalui edukasi praktik mencuci tangan menggunakan sabun. Metode yang digunakan berupa penyampaian materi sederhana, demonstrasi enam langkah mencuci tangan, praktik bersama, sesi tanya jawab, serta permainan edukatif yang menyenangkan. Kegiatan dilaksanakan di SDN 01 Sukodadi dengan sasaran siswa kelas dua dan tiga yang diajak terlibat aktif dalam setiap sesi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan siswa mengenai pentingnya mencuci tangan dan manfaatnya bagi kesehatan, sekaligus keterampilan mereka dalam mengikuti tahapan mencuci tangan dengan benar. Observasi juga memperlihatkan bahwa sebagian besar siswa mampu mengingat dan mempraktikkan langkah-langkah cuci tangan setelah diberikan bimbingan dan contoh secara langsung. Selain itu, siswa terlihat antusias dan lebih mudah memahami materi karena dikemas dengan media visual, lagu, dan permainan interaktif. Berdasarkan temuan ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa edukasi berbasis praktik langsung memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap peningkatan kesadaran, pengetahuan, dan keterampilan siswa dalam menjaga kebersihan diri. Kegiatan ini terbukti efektif untuk menanamkan kebiasaan hidup bersih sejak dini dan diharapkan dapat diterapkan secara berkelanjutan di lingkungan sekolah maupun rumah tangga.
