Pengaruh Pendidikan Kesehatan Tentang ASI Eksklusif terhadap Paternal Breastfeeding Self Efficacy di Wilayah Puskesmas Lerep

The Influence of Health Education About Exclusive Breastfeeding on Paternal Breastfeeding Self Efficacy in the Lerep Health Center Area

Abstract

Breastfeeding mothers need support from the father so that the mother is able to exclusively breastfeed (paternal breastfeeding self efficacy). Fathers' knowledge of exclusive breastfeeding will influence their perception of paternal breastfeeding self-efficacy. Father's perception of paternal breastfeeding self-efficacy will affect the father's attitude in helping mothers while breastfeeding. Health education with interesting media is needed to increase fathers' knowledge of paternal breastfeeding self efficacy. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of exclusive breastfeeding health education on paternal breastfeeding self efficacy in the Lerep Health Center area. The research design uses Quasi-Experimental with the nonequivalent with control group design. The population of this study was all husbands of breastfeeding mothers totaling 134 husbands. The research sample was determined by purposive sampling with respondents who met the criteria totaling 34 subjects. By using the Independent T Test obtained p value (0.000) < α (0.05), it was concluded that there was a significant influence between exclusive breastfeeding health education on paternal breastfeeding self efficacy in the Lerep Health Center area. The results of this study can add information for fathers in helping mothers breastfeed their babies through health education with video media so as to increase knowledge and positive attitudes in helping mothers breastfeed their babies.

Ibu menyusui membutuhkan dukungan dari ayah agar ibu mampu memberikan ASI secara eksklusif (paternal breastfeeding self efficacy). Pengetahuan ayah tentang ASI eksklusif akan mempengaruhi persepsi mereka tentang paternal breastfeeding self efficacy. Persepsi ayah tentang paternal breastfeeding self efficacy akan berpengaruh terhadap sikap ayah dalam membantu ibu saat menyusui. Pendidikan kesehatan dengan media yang menarik dengan melalui vidio animasi diperlukan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan ayah terhadap paternal breastfeeding self efficacy. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendidikan kesehatan ASI eksklusif terhadap paternal breastfeeding self efficacy di wilayah Puskesmas Lerep. Desain penelitian menggunakan Quasi Eksperimental dengan the nonequivalent with control group desain. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh suami dari ibu menyusui berjumlah 134 suami. Sampel penelitian ditentukan dengan purposive sampling dengan responden yang memenuhi kriteria berjumlah 34 subjek. Dengan menggunakan uji Independent T Test diperoleh nilai p value (0,000) < α (0,05), maka disimpulkan terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara pendidikan kesehatan tentang ASI eksklusif terhadap paternal breastfeeding self efficacy di wilayah Puskesmas Lerep. Hasil penelitian ini dapat menambah informasi bagi ayah dalam membantu ibu menyusui bayinya melalui pendidikan kesehatan dengan media video sehingga dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan sikap positif dalam membantu ibu menyusui bayinya.
